Chinese born composer Daniel (Jingyang) Cui’s music draws deeply from global perspectives, cultural narratives, and the subtleties of daily life, crafting a sonic language that is intellectually rigorous yet deeply rooted in the human experience.

Winner of First Prize and the Orchestra Award at the 17th International Dimitri Mitropoulos Competition in 2025, his music has earned honors from the River Awards, Artzenter Emerging Composer Grants, Georgina Joshi Commission Prize, and the EarShot Fellowship, and has been performed by the Thessaloniki State Symphony Orchestra, Thailand Philharmonic Orchestra, Wild Up, San Francisco Contemporary Music Players, Mivos Quartet, PRISM Quartet, and many more.
